History
The HipKnee Arkansas Foundation (HKA) is a state-of-the-art motion analysis center based in Little Rock, Arkansas that integrates research in orthopedics, biomechanics, gait analysis, sports science, and motion capture. It is a nonprofit laboratory that is directed by C. Lowry Barnes, MD. The HipKnee Arkansas Foundation seeks to replicate human performance ranging from walking to swinging a golf club while measuring joint motion and muscle activity. Our mission is to conduct research to advance our understanding of total joint replacements and improve functionality in patients who have or will require orthopedic intervention.
